What exactly are roof coatings?
Roof coatings are a way that you can extend the lifecycle of your flat roof without having to tear your previous roof off and replaced it with a new roof. When a coating is applied, it looks almost like a liquid, however it quickly solidifies into a membrane that covers your entire flat roof. These roof coatings can be done with acrylic coatings, asphalt coatings, polyurethane coatings, or silicone coatings. They can help protect your from from storm damage, hail, wind and ice. Roof coatings are highly effective and sought after for their practical nature and affordability.
Extending a Commercial Roof’s Life with Roof Coatings
Your commercial roof is one of the most expensive assets on your Ardencroft commercial building and needs to be properly maintained. Your roof is what keeps everything inside of your building dry and safe. Every year your roof faces numerous storms whether it be hail, wind or rain.
Roof coatings are unique in that they can actually extend the life of your roof without an expensive roof replacement. A coating is applied to your roof to protect the actual surface.
Why Should a Ardencroft Building Owner Consider Roof Coatings?
With modern roofing materials, roof coatings are revolutionizing the commercial roofing industry. On certain roof types, roof coatings are an ideal fit, and can save business owners up to 50% on their roofing project by restoring their roof versus replacing their entire roof.
Reflective Properties: Roof coatings are reflective which helps to reflect UV rays from your building. This not only lowers temperatures by keeping your building cooler, but in the winter, coatings act as another layer of insulation to help keep your building warm.
Cost Savings: One of the largest reasons that roof coatings are so popular is in the financial savings. Roof coatings are sprayed directly on top of your existing roof. Your existing roof does not need to be torn up and removed in order to be restored. This saves you money not only on labor, but makes the entire project less disruptive. Roof coatings can save you up to 50% as compared to a traditional commercial roof replacement.
Ease of Installation: Roof coatings are changing the way commercial roof replacements happen. A typical roof replacement can be a somewhat involved and intensive process that unfortunately may have to disturb your day to day until the process is completed. There can be significant noise and waste with a roof replacement on a huge complex. But, roof coatings can be applied on your roof in an extremely non-invasive or disruptive manner to keep your business open and operating without any hassles while seamlessly having your roof restored.
Eco-Friendly: Since you are spraying a coating on top of your already existing roof, and providing a double layer, you do not need to throw away your old roof or use new material on top of your roof. This means less waste in our landfills.
Aesthetics: Roof coatings can breathe new life into a metal roof or flat roof, particularly if your roof is rusted or aging. An old roof can look unappealing, but a fresh coating can give your roof a very vibrant and healthy appearance to it.
These coatings can save you tremendous money by only having to restore your roof instead of replacing it. It can less the amount of maintenance that goes into your commercial roof and even offer tax credits and rebates. Your roof can become an eco-friendly roof in reflecting uv rays and heat.
Not all roofs are candidates for roof coatings. Let a technician see if roof coatings are an option for you. For instance, a roof that is completely worn down, or that has catastrophic failure from 3” hail that has punctured the roof may not be candidates for restoration and would need an entire replacement. Typically large, complex roofs can benefit the most from roof coatings, but all commercial roofs can take benefit. Coatings can protect your metal roof from corrosion and heat loss.

Ardencroft is a village in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. According to the 2010 Census, the population of the village is 231.
Ardencroft was founded in 1950 as an outgrowth of Arden and Ardentown with a conceptual lifestyle based on Henry George’s Single tax movement and William Morris’s Arts and Crafts principles. Ardencroft was the last of seventeen land trusts founded between 1894 and 1950, Ardencroft’s tax structure is based on the Single Tax economic philosophy of Henry George. As a result, a person’s house is not taxed, only the land it sits on, which is owned in by a charitable trust and managed by three directors. Half the land is woods and open space. Footpaths criss-cross the village. At its founding in 1950, Ardencroft formally encouraged minorities to settle there, seeking families that wanted to live in an integrated setting. The nearby, former Arden School (now the Buzz Ware Village Center) also allowed integration around this time, prior to many of the changes enacted by the Civil Rights Movement.
